MARGARETA PARTY ON GÅSÖ

In Sweden we have something called "names day". Every day of the year has a name (human first name) and if you happen to have the name of the day it is your names day.
During one week in the summer it is all ladies names and therefore this week is called, Ladies week. One of the names this week is Margareta and since my friend on the Gåsö Louise second name is Margareta she started the tradition to have a ladies party this day (20 July)! This year at my place! You bring something to eat and drink. Easy Peasy!
Get inspired and have your own ladies party this summer.

Helena brought asparagus on a bed of croutons and french mustard dressing.
Christina came with this big yummy pasta salad with avocaco, salami, rocket, mozarella etc...
My neighbour Lena had got inspired by what she had in the fridge, pasta salad with strawberries, schrimps and mozarella.
My dear sister Mariana made these lovely savoury muffins with olives and feta cheese.
...and finally but not last (this is just a sample of all the tasty things all the girls brought (I made a sticky chocolate cake and a juicy nectarine cake) Catt came with this georgeous wild mushroom pie. Cannot wait till next year.

NEW TRANSPORT VEHICLE AT GÅSÖ

Back at our lovely island Gåsö in the Stockholm Archipelago. I was met at my arrival by my brother in law Clabbe with the new addition to the south part of the island, a mini tractor! What ever next....

Matthew Curtis in Stratford

Just having my hair done with my favorite hairstylist Mat in Stratford Upon Avon. Look at his quirky interior with feathered lamp shades. He and his staff recently won some prestigious awards in London. Congratulations. Www.matthewcurtis.biz

MINI GUIDE TO NYKÖPING CLOSE TO SKAVSTA AIRPORT

Welcome to the nice and handy little town Nyköping, more known to a lot of people as being the town closest to Skavsta AirportHellmanska Gården is a cafe, shop and bakery in the middle of town! (Västra Storgatan 30). Genuine and lovely atmosphere in the courtyard garden, buy some newly baked bread to take away with you. They also have a well stocked kitchen- and gift shop! Inspiring!
The courtyard cafe at Hellmanska Gården.
Vita Rum (The White Rooms) on Östra Storgatan has a nice mix of romantic interior design accessories as well as children's nightwear etc .....
Most things are white at Vita Rum but they also have blues, pinks and cream.
Possings Möbler (Possings Furniture) on Östra Storgatan has a quirky mix of contemporary interior design and fashion! Unusual and personal!
Kanel (Cinnamon) on the same street has the mix of clothes and interior design that Scandinavian (and the British) love so much (a mix of danish and dutch interior design and fashion).
Trendy danish wellies etc at Kanel.
My favourite shop on this street was/is without doubt "Rut & Signe" named after the owners both grandmothers! A lovely mix of "shabby chic" interior- and garden design.
More from Rut & Signe.
Cute old wooden house at the end of Östra Storgatan.
Do visit the "Hantverksgruppen" in the harbour area. Arts and crafts as its best.
On the road towards Katrineholm (when you drive from Nyköping) you will find Ingvaldstorps Trädgårdsodling (Garden Center and Nursery). They grow a variety of more or less unusual plants and their speciality are Geraniums.
Before you get to Ingvaldstorp you will pass this wonderful place. They specialize in growing organic tomatoes and cucumbers. They also run a cafe, and sell plants, bread, sheep skins, marmalade etc...an oasis to relax in.
The shop at Ändebols Gård...
Try their "Närmacka" ("Local" sandwich). Which consists of home baked bread, homegrown vegetables and local cheese. Very fresh and yummy!
Last but not least! Visit NK Villan by the river. The famous department store NK in Stockholm use to produce their furniture here in the past. Now it is a small museum, restaurant and art gallery.
