IKEA PS - IN A STORE NEAR YOU 1 MAY

Ikea has again done a, what they call, Ikea PS Collection. It has come together after an enquiry which showed that more and more people around the world lives in cities, in smaller spaces and are moving more frequently. This enquiry also stated that multifunctional furniture and accessories are in high demand. Fifteen designers from all over the world were invited to this collection and together with the design team from Ikea they have come up with 50 products. Above, a sidetable that reminds me of my childhood cake tin in layers!

HAPPY EASTER - GLAD PÅSK!

Happy Easter to all my readers and followers. This lovely card was painted by my talented sister a couple of years ago and since I thought it was so nice I decided to frame it. Now it is always on display in our Swedish summer house together with the frog and the jug by Alice Shephard.

Easter Cupcakes has become a tradition in my/our house. This year with sweet cases from www.ikea.com and green icing. Recipe can be found on this blog, July last year!

Another Swedish Easter tradition is to dress birch branches with feathers and other decorations. Here with lime green feathers.

More feathers, new for this year were/are the black and white ones from www.ahlens.se. We celebrated this Friday with eggs, leg of lamb with Pomme Dauphinoise and for desert, meringues with homemade ice cream and strawberries. Yummy. Back soon with more...

SPRING TIME IN STOCKHOLM

In Stockholm for Easter Holidays. Unfortunately cold and rainy...But spring was in the shops and in the air. Here, Easter @ Indiska in turqouise and pink. Fun!

At PUB, "Systrarna Voltaire" (The Voltaire Sisters), had opened a shop in shop with the English designer Orla Kiely´s homeware. The green house installation was part of it!

Invest in a pair of sun coloured shoes this spring. These ones from Zara!

Tatty Devine @ Cheltenham Design Festival

With purple and yellow died hair and a happy face. Harriet Vine talked about her and partner Rosie´s success story Tatty Devine @ Cheltenham Design Festival last Friday. They are celebrating 14 years of fashion accessory making in September and also showed some of her recent work. The girls set up their first shop in London's Brick Lane and lived on selling found (left outside a leather supplier outside their door) leather at Camden Market. Eventually they found a laser cutter machine in New York, bought one and the rest i history. She also talked about how she grew up with a dress maker mother and carpenter dad who opened the door to diy and creative work. Today they employ 60 people and are based in Hackney (where she also lives with husband and daughter). I rarely leave Hackney and spend most time working in my studio! www.tattydevine.com
