Tatty Devine @ Cheltenham Design Festival

With purple and yellow died hair and a happy face. Harriet Vine talked about her and partner Rosie´s success story Tatty Devine @ Cheltenham Design Festival last Friday. They are celebrating 14 years of fashion accessory making in September and also showed some of her recent work. The girls set up their first shop in London's Brick Lane and lived on selling found (left outside a leather supplier outside their door) leather at Camden Market. Eventually they found a laser cutter machine in New York, bought one and the rest i history. She also talked about how she grew up with a dress maker mother and carpenter dad who opened the door to diy and creative work. Today they employ 60 people and are based in Hackney (where she also lives with husband and daughter). I rarely leave Hackney and spend most time working in my studio!
