MEMORIES FROM THE DIAMOND JUBILEE STREET PARTY IN CHIPPING CAMPDEN

The Diamond Jubilee was celebrated in Chipping Campden with a huge street party. More of less the whole High Street was occupied by tables and chairs provided from the town hall, local restaurants and hotel etc. As soon as everybody started to sit down the sun decided to come out and shine on us! For those who was lucky to get a wristband for free food brought their own picnic, drinks etc. Fantastic atmosphere!

Just to give you an idea how big the party was! In the foreground in red, my lovely newly wed daughter in law, Erin.

Prince Charles decided to spend the day with us!

I made a Victoria Sponge with Royal Icing and berries to be given to the town council and being portioned out by them!

We had a lovely chicken salad with local asparagus, eggs, Parmesan and a minty dressing. The recipe is by our lovely local "famous" cook Maggie Corbett!
