#LONDONDESIGNWEEK WITH #DESIGNERSGUILD AND #MATTHEWWILLIAMSON etc

Tricia Guild "opened" this autumns London Design Week, part of London Design Festival, with breakfast for the press at her flagship store in Kings Road. Here she is in full action telling us how she and her team work with mood boards when creating new collections, patterns and fabrics. The new collection in full of greens and blues, a truly Mediterranean look!

Designers Guilds latest collection, "Madhuri" has, contrary to the Indian name, a Mediterranean feel to me. Lots of blues and greens and, according to Tricia herself, with masculine and more subtle patterns and colours.

Across the road from Designers Guild on Kings Road (Osborne & Little) the famous fashion designer Matthew Williamson showed his latest collection for interior fabrics. Also in very "Mediterranean" colours and with his flowery patterns with birds and butterflies etc. Fresh and summery!

Matthew Williamson for Osborne & Little with fresh seaside colours and "flying" wallpapers with dragonflies.

Pastels and blues (as in blue colours not the mood) were very frequent this autumn. And often with a mix of patterns. This was shown at Focus at Chelsea Design Centre. Powder blue and pink together was a reoccurring theme!
