HOT SUMMER TRENDS WITH SELFRIDGES

Selfridges has really opted their game recently. The whole department store on Oxford Street has had a big rewamp and feels more up to date and trendy than ever.What use to be the Wonder Room are now a pop up store just now dedicated to David Bowie and the current exhibition at the V&A (runs until 11 August) and the shop will run until 2 June!

The windows just now are all the summer trends chosen by Selfridges. I love the themes thare are all based on current and upcoming festivals in the UK, dress in black and white for the evening happenings in spooky Edinburgh.

Dress in Grunge like Kurt Cobain and Nirvana for Glastonbury and similar music festivals this summer!

Timothy Oulton opened a shop in shop at Harrods recently. The grand opening was last week with proper welcoming!

I TOOK THE PULSE @ PULSE IN LONDON

I took the pulse @ Pulse (interior design accessories and gift fair @ Earls Court 2 in London) yesterday. I was suitably dressed in neon yellow and black. Skirt and leggins from Topshop last summer, scarf from Primark, jacket this season/HM. Bag, a bargain at Bicester outlet last year and finally my beloved Palladiums, another bargain at a sale!

Birds and muted colours for this autumn. Birds has become very popular as a pattern on walls, interior items and fabrics! From sparrows to pheasants.

Neon and patterns on garden tools! These ones you can find at V&A!

Raw materiels and neon felt new and inaugarating. I was immediately drawn to this stand and it turned out to be a Swedish girls design (I am Swedish if you did not already know that). The wood is cut by her uncle in Dalarna in Sweden (her design) and then handpainted by Lotta Cole herself!

More Neon....it started last year and now it is everywhere! Nice for stationery...I love the distressed looking variety in the middle!

Mixed patterns. Not only in fashion and cushions...the time has come to stationery etc...

Retro and birds. The retro trend is still going strong. We love it when the world is so unsettled. Birds again on enamel in red and green.

 This French young company felt new and different. The way that they mixed modern patterns and neon with retro and rustic surfaces had a new approch to the earlier take on retro patterns by Cath Kidston etc...

We love retro. From wallpaper to gift bags and containers.

A different and stunning way of displaying china. Hang them from a tree on the wall. Birds again! And china in lovely muted pastels.

Another retro trend is damask patterns that we usually find on wallpaper and fabrics. Here on staionery, lovely and eclectic at the same time. Mix it up with a bit of gold for the right glamorous touch.

Retro, neon and patterns. Updated designs from the 60-ies and 70-ies in bolder colours. Mixes fine with vintage furniture and modern sofas is grey. Happy!

Text and vintage. A lovely combination! Letters and numbers has been around now for a while but still feels refreshing and fun. Here in a more vintage take.

And finally. Text, retro, a mix of fonts and neon. All at once. I love how old and new mixes and turns into something refreshingly different and stunning.

GROWN UP FUNKY MIX FROM HM TO PRADA

Cool 50+! Today everyone can be rock hot chic or monochrome with a hint of neon. When I was in my teens that would have been impossible or very embarassing (for the children). You just did not do it in the 70-ies. Luckily (lucky me!)this has changed. It is not about trying to look young, (curly long hair, short skirts and too much make up) . It is too dress your age but funky and happy! Here I am in what has always been my great favorite combination - black and white! Some are from last year and some are new! Yellow bag from Ted Baker (a bargain at Bicester Outlet, over a year ago), scarf HM (this one is at least five years old but just saw that they have something very similar just now). Pink blazer, HM, monochrome dress, Topshop. The tights are from a HM sale. Shoes, Topshop a year ago! Bracelat, HM (last year). Necklace and nail varnish from HM.

This fantastic dress would go nicely with my outfit. DKNY now!

L K Bennett is for grown up girls. And they have such a good spring collection this year! Just look at these fab pumps in neons. Would fit my wardrobe fab this summer.

Monochrome for grown ups at Joseph.

For the monochrome look, take a visit to Michael Kors and pick up some lovely (but pricy) accessories! He has designed a gorgeus little outfit in black and white dogtoth pattern that I nearly could have died for!

Monochrome à la Prada!

Burgundy mixed with light blue and turquoise has been one of my favourites this winter. The leather (fake) jacket I picked up in Nice for nothing, t-shirt and leggings from HM. Scarf from Accessories years ago!

These fantasic sequinned sandals in faded jeans blue would look great with some of my outfits. Just cannot justify the price though! Miu Miu.

Mix patterns and textures. Jeans jacket from HM two years ago. Blouse from Topshop, last years collection. T-shirt and leggings both from HM. Palladium sneakers in leather.

Funky sneakers, would turn my outfit into evening wear. DKNY.

Denim and studs. The basic colour and texture for this summer season.

Finally, mix patterns but it is not as easy as i looks. Topshop knows how to do it! Mix flowers with Inka, animalprints and tie die. Anything goes!
